One of the oldest cultural arts organizations west of the Mississippi, the Vallejo Choral
Society
is a proud component of historic Vallejo's vibrant artistic community. Founded
in 1917, the choral society is a mixed-voice seasonal choir performing locally
as well as in San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland and Sacramento. Under the
direction of our new director, Cyril Deaconoff, the choral society's repertoire
covers choral music from Renaissance to contemporary.
Recent performance highlights include singing Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the Vallejo Symphony in 2007, singing works from Mozart, Haydn, Rossini and more at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Spring 2006, and singing Beethoven's Mass in C Major with the Solano Symphony at the Fairfield Center For Creative Arts and Vacaville Performing Arts in 2005. We also participate annually in the Sing Along Messiah sponsored by the Vallejo Music Theatre.
