Vallejo Choral Society -- Artistic Director/Conductor Search
The Vallejo Choral Society seeks a dynamic and motivated Artistic Director/Conductor to kick off the 2008-2009 season. The Vallejo Choral Society (VCS) is one of the oldest community choruses on the West Coast. This year we are celebrating our 90th Anniversary Season. We are an adult, secular, not-for-profit, community-based, mixed chorus dedicated to serving the community through song. Our repertoire ranges from classical oratorios to Broadway medleys and traditional carols. We strive to increase awareness, appreciation and enjoyment of live choral music within the community through high-quality performances and our music education program for community youths. We currently rehearse every Wednesday from 7PM – 9:30PM with sectional rehearsals on Monday evenings.
The Artistic Director/Conductor reports to the Board of Directors. He/She provides the artistic leadership and vision for VCS, designs the rehearsal and performance program for the season, and oversees all aspects of the performances. Salary is negotiable and dependent upon experience.
